The Basic Requirements
Let's get the basics out of the way.
Compatible Phones
The first step is to make sure your mobile phone can download and play
games. This is easy to find out, simply check to see if your handset is
listed in the menu on the left of this page. If you see your handset
listed, you can download and play our games.Compatible
Networks/Operators
Our service works on o2, Orange, T-Mobile, Tesco Mobile, Virgin Mobile
and Vodafone. It DOES NOT work with the 3 network.
WAP Settings
The next step to make sure you have WAP enabled on your mobile phone.
Nearly all UK mobile phones come with the WAP settings installed. If
you're unsure, the quickest way to to check is to use our free WAP test.
Using our FREE WAP Test
1. Text the word waptest to 84900
2. We'll send you a message free of charge.
3. Open the message and you'll be asked if you want to connect.
4. Select 'YES' and you phone will try to connect to our WAP site.
5. When you see the WAPMAD logo you know
it works
- If at step 4 it says "Cannot connect to WAP" or "Set up WAP now?",
you will need to contact your operator and ask them to send you the
WAP settings, which they'll do free of charge.

Before Ordering
There are a couple of things to check
before ordering a game from us. It's easy to forget these.
Calling Credit
Ensure you have enough calling credit. This only affects you if you're
on a Pre Pay or Pay As You Go type of tariff. If you're on a monthly
contract you can ignore this bit.
Your network/operator will normally charged a few pence while you
connect via WAP. It really is only pennies, but you need to make sure
you have enough credit to cover that cost. You'd be gutted if you
couldn't get to the game and you'd think we're crap, which we're not :)
Memory Space
Now this sounds very daunting, but is in fact rarely a problem. Your
phone has memory space and when you download a game it takes up a little
bit of that space. This really is rarely a problem as our games require
very little space and phone come with lots of memory space.
However, if you've taken a few hundred photos or video clips using
your swanky camera phone, you may need to delete some of these before
trying to download the game. The manual that came with your phone will
tell you how to check how much memory space you have and how to delete
old stuff you no longer require it.

Okay let's go through the process of choosing a game for your mobile phone
Choosing a Game
Regardless of whether you plan to pay by SMS Text, Credit/Debit card or our 24
hour automated order line, the first thing you need to do is decide which game
you want. You select your handset in the left hand menu and you'll see a list of
games that work on your phone. Click on the image of the game and you'll see a
description and screen shot of the game.You'll also see that each game has a
unique 5 digit Order I.D. number. This begins with 89xxx. You need to make a
mental a note of the Order I.D. number for your chosen game as you'll need it
when you get to WAP site later on.
Choosing a Payment Method
Now you need to choose how you want to pay. The 24 hour Order Line and SMS text
method cost £4.50 and Credit/Debit Card costs £3.95. These are covered below. |
Buying a Game using SMS Text
Okay, you've made a mental note of the 5 digit Order I.D. number
for your chosen game. Great! Now all you have to do is text the
word game to 84900 (it doesn't matter if you use
upper or lower case.
We'll immediately send you 3 text messages. These
normally arrive within a few seconds, but can take up to an
hour if your network/operator is experiencing high text message
usage.
One message will contains a WAP link and another contains a
password that allows you download your chosen game. Connect to
the WAP site and enter the 5 digit
order I.D. for you chosen game. Type the number in and after a
few seconds select your handset. The game will start to download the game.
Once the game is downloaded, you will be asked if you want to
install the game. You obviously do, so you select YES and the
game is installed on your phone. Clever stuff huh?
Now all you need to do is exit back to your phones main menu and
you'll see a new icon for the game. Select the icon and you're
away! Easy as that! |
Buying a Game using
Credit/Debit Card
On the page where you saw the 3 payment options you simply
select Credit Card link. This adds the game to a shopping cart.
You can at this point choose to add another game, or continue to
the check out.
Once you've finished adding games to the shopping cart, you
select the button 'Continue To Check Out'. Then you enter your
email address and mobile telephone number. It's VERY
IMPORTANT that you enter the correct email address.
Continue through to the secure credit/debit card page and enter
your details. We use WORLDPAY to process the payment, ensuring
your privacy and security are guaranteed.When you've done this
and paid for the game(s) we'll immediately send you an email
containing the password to download your chosen game from
http://wapmad.com/get/cc.asp
We will send you one email for each game you ordered.
Connect to the WAP site using your mobile phone WAP connection and enter the 5 digit
order I.D. for your chosen game. After a
few seconds you select your handset. Then you enter the
password. The game will start to download the game.
Once the game is downloaded, you will be asked if you want to
install the game. You obviously do, so you select YES and the
game is installed on your phone. Clever stuff huh?
Now all you need to do is exit back to your phones main menu and
you'll see a new icon for the game. Select the icon and you're
away! Easy as that! |
