Game Play
The game play category covers everything from the games
controls to how well a game plays with the most important
aspect obviously being how fun the game actually is and
how quickly we get bored of it.
Graphics
This category covers the aesthetical look and feel
of the game, paying close attention to a games
appearance and presentation. We work out the graphics
score by comparing it to what we consider to be the
title with the best graphics available at the time.
However, just because a games graphics seem very
impressive at first glance it wont necessarily mean
that it will receive a good score because we take in
to consideration a whole host of aspects including
how clear the game is, How smooth it runs and how
effective the graphics are in relation to its game
play.
Sound
Obviously when ranking a games sound we look at the games
soundtrack, in game effects and the overall quality of
these aspects. Of course any of these aspects could have
a significant affect on the score, for example if the
soundtrack is great but the FX are not this will
undoubtedly lower the score. And vice versa.
Features
This covers all the special features that a game may
include, such as if it is multiplayer, if it has
Bluetooth, in-game saving and
any other specific function that helps a game to stand
out. We rank this by looking at how extensive certain
games features are. And so if it is full of special
features it will receive a high score.
Lean
This is the category that lets us sway a games final score.
For instance if a game has a terrible score for its graphics,
game play, sounds and features its final score will be very
low. But what if we simply loved the game? This is where
we can use the lean score to sway a games final score. And
so basically it’s our own all round score for a game. |
